Ot: I know this is thin ice!
Hi Guys,
Ok, I have been listening to my Ipod or Xm or a walkman for the past several years, 8 to
5:30 M-F at work. always wanted great sound but at my location it has to be somewhat contained so no big Altecs to enjoy. In the years that I have been listening I have only lost one power supply.
From previous posts you may recall I play music and have been mixing sound for many years and am the sound guy at my church, JBL, Crown, DBX, Allen and Heath etc.
I own a several sets of older altecs, Maggies, A7s, 1204s and various other pieces.
I trust my ears, and now go out of my way to protect them!
One bright spot in the company that has become Altec Lansing, a now vintage computer set.
specificly ACS340. I have found and purchased several sets to have backup for a long long time. they sound great. I know this topic is taboo, but I have learned a lot from you guys and wanted to share this info.
sincerely and respectfully,
scott in nc
